Zheng Xie was born in Shanghai, China. She received the diploma (master) degree in computer science from RWTH Aachen, Germany, in 2005. Since January 2006, she is employed as a Research Assistant for the Chair of Communication Networks (Comnets) of RWTH Aachen where she is working towards her Ph.D. degree. She is actively involved in the IST-FIREWORKS project where a mesh network protocol integrated in the WiMAX protocol will be developed and simulated. Her current research interests include optimization of WiMAX protocol in consideration of Mobile Multi-hop Relay (MMR) and self-organizing wireless multi-hop networks with Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee.
