Abstract
This paper proposes a new SDL symbol, the SDL probe symbol, used for generating statistical data during a simulation run of an SDL specification's implementation. The abstract syntax of this new probe symbol is provided in Backus-Naur Form (BNF). A graphical example explains how to use this new symbol.
