Demonstations and first measurement results

The 5 GHz OFDM experimental system is used in order to measured the performance in a real mobile radio environment. Therefore extensive measurement campaigns are performed e.g. in public places or streets, railway stations, airports, etc.

Besides this the experimental system is also used to demonstrate OFDM based radio connection in a network environment (figure 1). Over the OFDM based radio link the mobile client is able to connect to a server. This server provides different content. In case of demonstrations, different applications like netmeeting, realtime video with very high quality, audio, file transfer, etc can be send down to the mobile terminal respective up towards the access points with up to nearly 54 Mbps.

Last but not least the OFDM experimental system is integrated in an environent (figure 2) which demonstrate the performance of novel algorithm for seamless handover between different radio interfaces with mobile IP (MIP).
