Abstract
In this paper we present a novel approach regarding the comparison of trunked mobile radio systems. Based on this concept, the TETRA V+D and TETRAPOL standards are compared for a defined scenario, which is also presented. The results of the traffic performance measurements for ETSI scenario 10 show differences in connection set-up times in TETRA and TETRAPOL systems. The probability for a connection set-up time exceeding 300ms in TETRA is about 7-30%, whereas in TETRAPOL it is about 90%.
