Before 2007, Prof. Mähönen was head of Mobile Networks (MobNets) chair at RWTH Aachen.
MobNets, by initiative of Prof. Walke, was an endowed chair funded by Ericsson AB from 2002 to 2007.
ComNets continued its research on WLAN and 4G cellular radio networks until 2015.
