Analysis of Mutual Interference in UMTS/IMT-2000 Mixed-Mode Scenarios

Abstract
In this paper a method for the calculation of mutual interference between WB-CDMA and TD-CDMA has been presented. Several important interference constellations are identified. Subscriber densities used for simulation are deducted from the European UTRA proposal. A simple power control algorithm used in the simulation is presented. Several results are given which show, that for the current parameters used coexistance of UTRA-TDD and UTRA-FDD in neighbouring frequency bands causes no severe interferences.
