Abstract
A security architecture suitable for a cellular ATM system (CATM) - as developed during the course of the ATMmobil project - is presented. Major work focuses on securing CATM core components including the wireless interface. The approach chosen does not perturb the possibility of user defined end-to-end security - e.g. as described by the ATM-Forum (ATMF). Key features are data encryption at the wireless interface, mutual authentication of network components, user anonymity, consideration of international laws, and employment of chip card technology
