Abstract
This paper addresses how the new promising paradigm of Agent Technology can be applied to the provisioning of service ubiquity based on the concepts of the Virtual Home Environment (VHE) being developed for the third generation mobile communication system UMTS. To illustrate the possibilities two sophisticated agent-based tele-communication services, namely the Adaptive Profile Manager and the Virtual Address Book, are described in depth.
