Abstract
A new concept to enable relay support in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.16 Standard has been presented in [1]. The proposed concept introduces a nested multi-hop Subframe, that is allocated by the Base Station (BS). The Relay Station (RS) takes over the control of the subframe and builds a 802.16 compliant Medium Access Control (MAC) frame within the allocated period. This paper presents performance analysis of the proposed concept, that have been acquired by the IEEE 802.16 implementation in the Wireless Network Simulator (WNS).
